No. 53: Spring show

After a nice warm and sunny day (if not a little hazy) , I took the dog for a walk around Stadt Moers park to see what I could snap and came across this blossoming tree, another sign of spring. With the clocks going forward tomorrow summer will feel like it's truly here with the long, light evenings.

'til tomorrow................

No. 52: A road less travelled

Well it's the end of another working week and now we can all look forward to a nice relaxing weekend. On my way home today the weather was quite pleasant and I felt like taking the scenic route home, and so came off the motorway to drive through Burtonwood. There was a bit of evening mist lingering around which set the trees in the distance off with an eerie haze, nothing nor a sole around except the tractor you can just about see in the distance if you look hard enough. I did think afterwards that it would be strange if the farmer was to take pictures of me at work as I took pictures of him?

I'm off fishing this weekend and so I might brave taking my camera with me, I will hopefully get some early morning shots of the Liverpool sky line.

'til tomorrow..

No. 3: Brickin' it!

Here it is, number 3. Wanted to take a pic of something a bit more grimy/ industrial, so off to Runcorn I went, Sutton weaver to be exact. I managed to get a few photo's of the railway bridge and the motorway flyover, very grimy! You can see these on the Scrapbook photos link on the left.

It was a glorious day today but a little Moscow, so kept getting back into my cosy warm car. Even though the sun was out the place still felt eerie, with all the large structures and no one about down there just me and a few mattresses and random Christmas tree's! I guess some tramp had a lovely Christmas down there.

Anyway, snow is promised tomorrow snow angels ahoy!

No. 2: Motor-No-Way

The M57 never looked so dazzling. On my jaunt with my pooch Henry around the park with the light fading I didn't find anything inspiring other than a few old stumps and dog plop; which in the right light they might make for interesting visual's, however in the dimming, grey non-sky that graces us in February inspiration was sparse.

As my journey came to a close and I thought all was lost, the M57 came to my aide. I had planned to shoot a road scene at night at some point. Keeping the shutter speed to "timed" and using the remote control I kept the shutter open for about 30 seconds. I would like to try this again at a location where the whole scene is lit up but, I'm quite pleased with the result as it's the first time I've tried this.

Anyway glad I made it home safe as walking around the park at dusk/night with m'big lens in these parts could be risky! Anyway 'til tomorrow.

No. 1: Buddha believe it!

That's right the first photo has arrived. Thought it best start the challenge at the start of the next month, and so it begins. Didn't have a massive window of time to get my first pic, but here it is. My little Buddha mate, whom I caught sneaking into the kitchen to "enlighten" some beer and "awaken" the custard creams.....or was that me?

I tried a couple of subjects tonight, but that phrase "don't work with kids or animals" was ringing true. I tried a few shots with my two daughters but couldn't quite achieve the shots I wanted to try; I was attempting to get the balance between capturing sharp focus and their movement, but they wanted one or the other! My faithful mutt Henry was not much better! I had sharp, nicely lit shots lined up, but he wanted to walk in and out of the kitchen a million time, and so I realised I need to chill and choose a different direction for the night, still (or nearly still) life.

Any way, I hope you like it!
